Today in the US it is National Napping Day. Sunday morning at 2 a.m. some of us moved our clocks ahead an hour to begin Daylight Saving Time. Some cities have chosen not to use DST and leave their clocks alone. DST causes the mornings to be darker and the evenings to be longer. It also causes some people to feel groggy for a day or two with the loss of that hour of sleep.
To help counter this feeling, National Napping Day was born. Started in 1999 this holiday encourages people to take a nap to catch up on their lost sleep.
For us nappers every day is Napping Day. We understand the beauty of refreshing our minds and bodies during our day. Some of us nap during lunch or dinner break. Others nap as soon as we come home from work. Some of us at home during the day nap at different parts of our day.
So, in honor of National Napping Day, I hope everyone gets to enjoy the benefits of a simple nap. Whether your nap is 30 minutes or 3 hours, you won’t regret it.
Happy Nappy as I like to say to my best friend who is also a napper.
Happy Napping Day!
