Day 17: A song that makes you want to dance.

The song I chose for today is Relax by Frankie Goes to Hollywood. The first time I heard Relax I couldn’t help but start dancing. I didn’t have cable back in 1984, when this song came out, but my parents did. I always hoped when I picked up the kids after work that the song would come on MTV while I was there, since my mother loved MTV. I used to request it a lot when I used to go out in the late 80s early 90s.

I still love to dance to it, as I found out when I searched for the video. I might not dance well, but I dance away when this song is heard. I hope it at least gets your toes tapping.

  1. I don’t know what bff means (not up on all my acronyms! ) but yeah, I remember listening to this back in the day and wondering how they got away with it. In fact, in the back of my mind, I’m thinking that it might have been banned by Radio 1 when it first came out. That and some oher perfectly fine songs that were deemed too risque. Nice choice for a dance.x

    • Thanks. BFF stands for Best Friends Forever and Mer and I are bffs. This song is just so much fun. There is a more hardcore video for this song, but I chose the video I remember.
